As the rugby community shifts its attention towards the end of the XVs season, there is a group of Women working tirelessly towards the start of the Aon National University Sevens Series. The University of Adelaide Team, The Romas, come from a variety of different sporting backgrounds; but all share the dedication and passion needed for their upcoming national series.

On Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of August, the Romas had their first experience playing in simulated tournament matches against The University of Tasmania. For many of the squad it was their first experience in a competitive rugby sevens match, a steep learning curve which resulted in some close results and in a draw in the final match of the day.

Rugby Union SA would like to wish the best of luck to the ladies heading away, may all those 6am conditioning sessions pay off! Round 1 of the series will take place in Launceston on the 25th and 26th of August and can be streamed live on
