NORTH TORRENS AGM

North Torrens will be holding their AGM on the 15th of October, 2:30pm sharp, at Dry Creek Reserve.

The club is looking for volunteers to take on the following responsibilities:

President

  • Work closely with Club Secretary to ensure all Rugby Union SA requirements/expectations are met throughout the season
  • Attend Rugby Union SA meetings & ensure communication lines are open
  • Ensure all council requirements are met and grounds booked
  • Work with all Committee Members and ensure all outstanding items are addressed and the club is run as efficiently as possible
  • Working with Club Secretary, ensure all external/internal inquiries are answered promptly

Club Secretary

  • Work closely with Club President to ensure all Rugby Union SA requirements/expectations are met throughout the season
  • Attend Rugby Meetings SA & ensure communication lines are open
  • Ensure all council requirements are met and grounds booked
  • Work with all Committee Members and ensure all outstanding items are addressed and the club is run as efficiently as possible
  • Working with Club President, ensure all external/internal inquiries are answered promptly
  • Record any minutes to meetings held and ensure Club Community are kept informed of any updates, changes, etc.
  • Work with Team Manager to ensure Rugbylink is kept up to date and communicate game times and locations throughout the season.

Treasurer

  • Record and report on all outgoing and incoming costs
  • Banking (Cheque/Deposit book, Cash and Electronic)
  • Preparation/Organisation of Floats for events/functions
  • Paying all club related bills
  • With assistance of Club President and Secretary, take payments of Players fees
  • Maintain a surplus budget at all times

Senior Coach / Assistant Coach

  • Working together, plan pre-season training and ensure good numbers are attending
  • Communicate to playing group and Club President/Secretary of planned training
  • Plan strategic training for Senior Season, incorporating “Rugby Union” rules and gameplay, ensuring fitness is improved throughout the season
  • Must be prepared to devote 100% of time for pre-season and regular season, Tuesday & Thursday nights from 6.30pm (possibly earlier to prepare) – exceptions obviously will arise, but strong communication with key people will ensure a seamless uninterrupted training schedule
  • Will also be available to take approved accreditation courses provided through RUSA

Junior Development Officer/Coach

  • Working with our North East Development Officer, develop strategies and engage local community to gain a starting base for a junior rugby squad
  • Concentrating on age group 15 to 18 year olds, to ensure our club has a future
  • A reasonable amount of time is expected to get a Junior squad off the ground, so communication is a required strength
  • Working independently to our senior Coaches, develop a training schedule suitable for age groups and plan training days for either Tuesday’s or Thursday’s (or both)
  • Will also be available to take approved accreditation courses provided through RUSA
  • Engage Parents of juniors to not only keep them informed of all games and events, but involve them in the club community

Team Manager

  • Must be available for all games, or ensure someone is able to fill in if you are not present for any games
  • Will be required to record basic statistics, game scores and capture any cards issued by referee. These will need to be entered into RugbyLink within 2 days of the game
  • Manage game substitutions and ensure you keep to the match rules (ie. Not exceeding maximum number of substitutions allowed)
  • Assist with player registrations
  • Maintain communication with ALL Coaches to enter squad selection prior to match day

Bar Manager

  • Ability to stock take and keep bar supplies at required stock levels
  • Purchase of Alcohol and other bar supplies with club reimbursement of funds
  • Manage volunteer staffing levels to cover events/home games, in coordination with Events Manager
  • Work closely with Treasurer and report ALL Bar income (maintaining electronic funds/receipts as proof). May be required to count money.
  • May be required to open up the club for events if Events Manager is unavailable

Events & Sponsorship Manager

  • All home games, Gala Days and functions will be your responsibility – from organising volunteers, to organising catering requirements and Canteen Volunteers
  • Communication is a MUST HAVE Strength, as you will be constantly calling people to arrange events
  • Coming up with event/function ideas throughout the Season (ensuring there are no clashes with other games/events), to utilise the club facilities and bring in revenue
  • Identify key businesses and approach with professional sponsorship packages and options to gain Sponsors for the club
  • Must be flexible as required to open up the club for events
