Rugby Union South Australia is proud to announce the launch of the FIRST EVER GIRLS RUGBY ACADEMY. Aimed at the Under 18s aged group, the objective of the Academy is to provide extra coaching and conditioning to improve the performance of potential State Representative Female players. The goal for Academy participants is to continue into a State Representative program with improved skills, physicality, knowledge and understanding of the game.

The Academy will run for 6 weeks on Wednesday evenings at Burnside Rugby Union Club. At the conclusion of the Academy, players will be asked to formally trial for SA’s first ever Under 18 XVs Girls team. The State squad will tour in June to Canberra to play in an U18 Schoolgirls competition.

The Academy is a fantastic opportunity for any girl aged 18, 17, 16 or 15 who would like to grow their game knowledge and skills through instruction from some special guest coaches. Training will be specialised to the sport and will prepare players adequately to participate in an Under 18s Schoolgirls competition.
