South Australia looks to create the first SA XVs State Representative team to contend a National Championship this year. The need for an extended training program has been recognised therefore, Rugby Union SA has created an Academy program to provide extra coaching and conditioning to improve the performance of potential Female State Representatives.
The program will not only include on field sessions once a week, but utilise Strength & Conditioning coaches from UniSA in a basic functional movement program. Additionally, the Academy will run a series of off-field education sessions around personal development, nutrition and recovery.
No Rugby experience necessary for Academy participation.
Who: Female Rugby enthusiasts born in 2000 & 2001. Extra Academy invites will be extended to current Females playing mixed-gender Rugby in the Under 14 Age Grade.
Where: Sessions at Burnside RUFC, extra off field sessions at Rugby Union SA offices
When: Registration Wednesdays 28th March, kit sizing, light fitness session, from 6pm
Field Sessions starting 4th March, 6-7:30pm
Cost: $50 (including Girls Academy training tee)
